My name is Jasmin Hewett, a proud Cook Islander with Tahitian ancestry, currently residing in the vibrant city of Auckland, New Zealand. For over 25 years, I have been captivated by the allure of pearls, a fascination that has now blossomed into my lifelong passion.

It all began with a single loose pearl, a precious gem nestled among my cherished treasures. Little did I know that this small token of beauty would ignite a journey of creativity and self-discovery. Over the years, pearls found their way to me as gifts from friends and family, each one holding its own untold story.

Yet, it was a serendipitous encounter with a Tahitian lady that truly left an indelible mark on my soul. As I checked in a Tahitian family at the Air New Zealand VIP lounge, she bestowed upon me a profound gift - a collection of 15 pearls. With a heartfelt "Mau ruru" - thank you in Tahitian - she entrusted me with these treasures, awakening a dormant passion within.

For years, these pearls remained untouched, shimmering in their untamed beauty. It wasn't until I stumbled upon mesmerizing videos on Youtube and Instagram, showcasing the transformation of beads into exquisite jewellery, that an epiphany washed over me. The creative floodgates swung open, and I knew deep within that my destiny lay in the realm of jewellery making.
